  CAF To Increase  Champions League Prize Money By Sampson Adedeji According to the reports coming from the headquarters of the Africa soccer governing body (CAF) the body is set to increase the prize money the winner of Champions League will earn, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Al Ahly of Egypt won the 2020 edition of the competition after beating arch-rivals Zamalek 2-1 in the final played at the Cairo international Stadium in Egypt. The new champion earned $2.5 million as prize money and a trophy was also presented with it. The reports coming suggest that CAF is set to increase the prize money from initial $2.5m to $4 million as prize for the winner of the next edition. The 2021 edition of the competition is already in progress and teams have already secured their passage into the first round. Enyimba international of Aba remained the only team representing Nigeria after Plateau United crashed out to Simba SC of Tanzania.
